April 19 – 25, 2015 – FAM trip to South Korea

The manager of MIEL Ltd., Mr. Ognian Blagoev, took part in FAM trip to South Korea in the period of 19 – 25 April 2015. The FAM trip was organized by Korea Tourism Organization and Korean Air offices in Istanbul. During the trip the Bulgarian delegation had the chance to feel the hospitality of Korean people, to meet the history, culture and cuisine, to experience the outstanding achievements in technology and creation of modern Korea.

During the FAM trip, Mr. Blagoev hold business meetings with managers of leading Korean tour operators and discussed the possibility to develop bilateral tourist traffic between Bulgaria and Korea by creation of new tourist products.


April 23 – 24, 2015 – Tours of Sofia and Plovdiv

MIEL organized the tourist program of foreign delegates who visited Bulgaria during the IX National reporting and election conference of the Federation “Construction, industry and water supply” – “Podkrepa”. 20 of the delegates from Turkey, Lebanon, Belgium, Netherlands, Greece, Cyprus, and Latvia participated in one day tour in Sofia with visit of the National Historical Museum and Boyana Church (part of UNESCO Heritage List) on April 23, 2015 and one day excursion to Plovdiv (European capital of culture for 2019) on April 24, 2015.




April 23 – 24, 2015 – TF FEST 2015 – Plovdiv, Bulgaria

For a consecutive year MIEL Ltd. supported the Fair of training firms which was organized by the Bulgarian Training Firms Net in the International Fair Plovdiv. 104 training companies from Bulgaria, Romania and Montenegro participated in XVIII students fair. MIEL Ltd. announced a contest for the best tourist offer. This year the offer was focused on the famous Rose Festival in the town of Kazanlak in Bulgaria. Students prepared their offers in English.

For professionals in MIEL was a difficult task to select the 3 best tourist offers. The first place was given to TF “Tandem Junior” from Sofia, TF “Tarnovo Entertainment Tours” from Veliko Tarnovo took second place and TF “Funny Days” from Goce Delchev was ranked on third place.

For the first time, MIEL gave individual award to the best travel agent during TF FEST 2015 to Tobias Beres from Romania.


April 1, 2015 – Presentation Korea – Leisure and MICE Destination

MIEL was appointed as event organizer of presentation Korea – Leisure and MICE Destination which was initiated by APG Bulgaria, representing the flag carrier of Korea – Korean Air and Korea Tourism Organization. The event was attended by more than 70 guests, representatives of Ministry of Tourism, Embassy of Republic Korea in Bulgaria, tour operators and travel agencies, media. After the official presentation of Korea Tourism Organization, Korean Air and APG Bulgaria, the event continued with business lunch. The guests had the chance to taste traditional Korean cuisine, while winery Bourgozone introduced its fine wines.

March 20 – 24, 2015 – Conferences and seminars of Cluster Promarket Plus

MIEL organized 2 conference in Varna and Yambol and 2 seminars in Varna and Burgas for Cluster Promarket Plus. The main aim of conferences was allocation of new members and expansion of commercial partnerships. For the successful organization of the events MIEL arranged speakers and moderators, hall with technical equipment in business hotels, coffee break and business lunch for the participants. During the events in Varna Electric Vehicles Industrial Cluster (EVIC) and Cluster Promarket Plus signed a memorandum for cooperation. All events are part of activities related to project BG161PO003-2.4.02-0122 “Cluster Promarket Plus – effective model for sustainable and competitive development”, co-financed by European Union through the European Regional Development Fund and the national budget of Republic Bulgaria.

March 04 – 08, 2015 – Cluster Promarket Plus participated in FOODTECH 2015

MIEL organized the participation of Cluster Promarket Plus as exhibitor in international Exhibitions of Food & Drinks, Packing, Machines and Technologies, which was hold in International Fair Plovdiv from 04 to 08 March 2015. MIEL provided services related to rent and branding of the exhibition area, hotel accommodation, hotel accommodation, transportation and catering for representatives of the Cluster. Cluster Promarket Plus was awarded for its debut and contribution to the enrichment of the international exhibition FOODTECH 2015. The participation in the exhibition is part of activities related to project BG161PO003-2.4.02-0122 “Cluster Promarket Plus – effective model for sustainable and competitive development”, co-financed by European Union through the European Regional Development Fund and the national budget of Republic Bulgaria.


January 2015 - MIEL visited the new House of Wine  in Sofia

Tourists and wine lovers have the opportunity to visit the newly opened House of Wine in Sofia. The house is part of the Bulgarian wine and spirits research institute where the degustation hall dates from 1882 where use to be situated the first beer brewery of Sofia. Today guests may feel the authentic atmosphere of the underground cave with Roman arches covered by noble mold and taste Bulgarian wines of 15 wine producers representing all wine regions of Bulgaria.

MIEL is keen to let you discover and fall in love of Bulgarian wines and let you taste some typical Bulgarian wine varieties known from ancient times – some 6 000 years ago. 


December 4 - 7, 2014 - MIEL – Company for Events and Leisure attended the annual conference of the WORLD ASSOCIATION OF TRAVEL AGENCIES (WATA), which celebrated its 65th anniversary.

The event was hosted by Istanbul, Turkey from 4 to 7 December 2014. Representatives of 36 destinations took participation, including Bulgaria through MIEL Ltd. - member of WATA since 2006.

Discussions concerned uprising new challenges that national DMCs face in the era of internet and marketing globalization of travel services and related industries. Main approach to withstand the negative tendency of the globalization is to globalize WATA`s members by their uniform representation on leading professional forums worldwide under the Association and the World of Incentives. Latterly, the commitments of WATA with national professional tourist associations also contribute for a better performance of all its members.

Mr. Blagoev, owner and chairman of MIEL, as well as member of board of directors, initiated the genesis of “project Balkans” – presenting the region as united European destination at international travel forums overseas.


November 18 - 20, 2014 - MIEL presented Bulgaria at EIBTM 2014

MIEL presented Bulgaria as emerging MICE destination at one of the top international forums for the MICE industry – EIBTM 2014, held from 18 to 20 November in Barcelona Spain. Our participation was effected under the brand of World of Incentives – a worldwide platform for incentive trips - member of which is our company. We are really touched from the interest of more than 30 hosted buyers that approached our stand.

Owing to our good partner Villa Melnik Winery, MIEL organized a special stand event – Day of Bulgarian Wine – when all attendants were familiarized with the specific regional vine varieties of Bulgaria, the ancient legend of wine making in Thracian lands and the emerging sector of wine & gastronomy tours in Bulgarian wine regions.

Against the backdrop of small governmental investments for international public advertising of Bulgaria in the tourism field, MIEL emphasized on: 4* and 5* MICE venues, Gala dinner venues and a lot of incentive ideas on the rise:

  • Wine & Gastronomy tours with a touch of culture, 
  • Golf and Luxury activities, 
  • А range of specific activities (photo safaris, rafting, sky diving etc.), 
  • Cultural acquaintance (history, traditional dancing and cooking activities), 
  • Ex-socialist cars racing,
  • Traditional festivities event calendar and many others.

And all of this is because MIEL is so passionate to present our beautiful country!  


October 17 - 18, 2014 - MIEL participated in the festival of wine and cultural heritage Avgustiada 2014!

More than 25 Bulgarian wine producers presented their wines at Avgustiada 2014, which was held in Stara Zagora on 17 and 18 October. MIEL had the pleasure to meet again partners and to solidify its business relations in the field of international promotion of qualitative Bulgarian wines and in second place of the contribution in organizing fine wine tourism in Bulgaria. 

Once again, Stara Zagora`s city municipality and the Chamber of Commerce have proved that besides cultural historic center, the region has the strength and the opportunities to stand out with its rich wine culture. Cheers!



September 29 - October 2, 2014 - MIEL presented Bulgaria as multipurpose tourist destination at the German travel market

From 29.09 to 02.10.2014 MIEL presented several ideas for Culture & Wine and Spa Tours in Bulgaria in 3 German cities - Cologne, Dresden and Hamburg. Over 20 tour-operators and travel agencies attended the events on place.

The main objective that we achieved was to drive the professional interest of German Travel Makers  to tourist alternatives in Bulgaria, different from the summer holidays on the Bulgarian sea coast. The ideas of Culture & Wine Tours as well as the multiple Spa destinations in Bulgaria attracted the attention of our German colleagues, who will advertise these categories in their travel platforms!

The professional tourism Road Show was effected in cooperation with the World Association of Travel Agencies and the Association of Independent Travel Agencies in Germany.


September 26 - 28, 2014 - 14th Annual Assembly of Association of Bulgarian Tour Operators and Travel Agents (ABTTA)

14th Annual Assembly of ABTTA took place in Stara Zagora in the period of 26 - 28 September 2014. During the event, the tourism potential of Stara Zagora region was presented by Chamber of Commerce and Industry Stara Zagora. Mr. Ognian Blagoev, chairman of MIEL Ltd. and Board Member of World Association of Travel Agencies (WATA), was honored for its essential contribution in promoting and developing the potential of the region. 



September 11 - 14, 2014 - FAM Trip in Bulgaria with Swiss tour operators (TPA) & WATA

MIEL organized a special FAM trip in Bulgaria to Swiss tour operators & WATA in the middle of September. The main aim of the trip was to promote Bulgaria as a wine destination full of history, culture and hospitality. Dear Ognian,

I am so glad that you decided to keep the fam-trip in spite of the few number of participants.  

Anyway, it will be exposed to other TPA members through their colleagues and this can only be very positive for MIEL and Bulgaria.

It was such a pleasure for me to be again in Bulgaria, to see so much changes, to share so beautiful moments with my friends there. I am so glad I could participate and I thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity. 

The group was not always easy to manage but you really cared for us and did a perfect job since the moment we arrived in Sofia.

July 3 - 14, 2014 - 18 Annual Directors' Meeting - SABIS International

Organizing an annual conference of international school network in Sofia. The conference gathered some 100 attendees coming from more than 15 world destinations. The event was accompanied by a lot of sightseeing tours and activities, traditional and special dinners.



June 16, 2014 - Day of APG in Bulgaria

Organizing Day of APG (Air Promotion Group) in Bulgaria where IATA agencies were rewarded for best results in selling APG products of 23 airlines on the Bulgarian market. The event was accompanied by a champagne cocktail.





June 2014 - International London Wine Fair

Organizing Bulgarian stand at London Wine Fair where more than 10 Bulgarian wine producers exhibited their best wines in front of English public. The business event was perfect for promotion of Bulgarian Wine & SPA tours as well.




May 17, 2014 - MIEL presented Bulgaria at the annual meeting of the Association of Professional Swiss tour operators (TPA)

We met interest from the Swiss partners in Bulgaria - near but undiscovered destination. MIEL launched the Bulgarian Wine & Spa tourism through the idea of ancient Thracian heritage. There were presented several options for wine tours including cultural sights, tastings of regional wines with protected geographic origin, all supplemented with relaxing spa treatments.
Beginning of September 2014, MIEL will welcome all interested Swiss partners and let them discover numerous opportunities for Cultural, Wine & SPA tourism in Bulgaria.



April 2014 - Press conference of National Agency for Vocation Education and Training

Organizing press conference for National Agency for Vocational Education and Training. The conference revealed important projects of the public administration for single electronic information register of vocational training centers, citizens and business.



April 2014 - XVII International School Fair

Organizing a contest and awarding best school projects in the tourism field during XVII International School Fair (in Plovdiv), attended by 127 training companies from Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Romania, Serbia and Montenegro. 





November 24, 2013 - Wine presentation of Bulgaria on Britain market

MIEL`s newest partner, representing Bulgarian wine products and promoting Wine & Spa tourism in Bulgaria, took part in the second Bulgarian wine presentation on the British market.

The event was held in the Bulgarian Embassy in London on 27 November 2013. More than 220 wine connoisseurs, professionals and traders showed interest in the event. The Regal Wine Selection Catalogue was highly appreciated. It presents MIEL as business partner in organizing events and trips in Bulgaria for developing regional Wine & Spa tourism. 


October 24th – 27th, 2013
MIEL participated in the General Assembly of World Association of Travel Agencies /WATA/

64th General Assembly of World Association of Travel Agencies /WATA/ took place in the European capital of culture for 2013 – Kosice. Representatives from 14 countries took part and Mr. Ognian Blagoev, CEO of MIEL Ltd. and Member of the Board of WATA, also participated. During the working sessions Mr. Blagoev presented the opportunities for organization of corporate events and tourist excursions in Bulgaria. Not only WATA members, but representatives from partner organizations – Alliance of independence travel companies, Germany (ASR) and Travel Professional Affiliates, Switzerland (TPA) were interested in. Mr. Blagoev was honoured with certificate for its active participation not only during the General Assembly, but in the all year live of the Association. 



September 25th – October 1st, 2013
Tourist program “Bulgaria and Romania” - Swiss group

MIEL was pleased to host a Swiss group of 29 people through our colleagues who are focused on cultural tourism and pilgrimage - Voyages PBR, Geneva. The tourist program was 8 days long – 5 days in Bulgaria and 3 days in Romania. Guests had the opportunity to get acquainted with Bulgarian traditions, culture and religion in the country, and to make a one-day trip by boat on the Danube Delta. We are happy that the positives reviews of Bulgarian hospitality, cultural and historical treasures of the country will spread by word of mouth among friends and family - the highest quality advertising for Bulgaria as an all-season destination and yet another recognition of MIEL as loyal business partner for the organization of events and travel in the Balkans.



September 8th – 17th, 2013 – Youth exchange “Joy Of Being Yourself”

MIEL was chosen for a business partner for organization of youth exchange financed by the European Programme “Youth in Action" which took place in Primorsko in the period September 8th – 17th, 2013. 24 participants from 5 countries – Estonia, Hungary, Romania, Turkey and Bulgaria discussed the problems of youth unemployment. The company for events and travel – MIEL Ltd., was engaged with the arrangement of the venue, lunches and dinners, conference halls, equipment and logistic during the whole project.



April 5, 2013

The International IT lawyers Meeting was held in Sofia on 5th of April 2013.

MIEL Ltd. was co-organizer of the event, along with the Bulgarian host - law firm "Dimitrov, Petrov & Co".

Event participants exchanged experience and ideas for the implementation of European legislation in the field of information technology, visited the Bulgarian capital and get acquainted with Bulgarian traditions in food and entertainment.

MIEL thanks "Dimitrov, Petrov & Co” for their vote of confidence in organizing this important meeting. We also thank all participants from the European meeting, who sent feedbacks with wonderful reviews about their stay in Sofia.

MIEL Ltd. became the Company for events and travel of the Bulgarian electro mobility

MIEL has joined the family of the Industrial Cluster for Electric Vehicles in Bulgaria at the end of November 2012. April 27 - 29th, 2012

MIEL attended the meeting of Travel Professional Associations, Switzerland - Basel, Switzerland

MIEL presented  Bulgaria as a tourist destination for business and pleasure to the Swiss Travel Professional Associations (TPA)

On 28th of  April 2012, the Swiss colleagues held a joint meeting of their association and the World Association of Travel Agencies (WATA), whose member is MIEL as sole representative of Bulgaria. Of all participants from WATA, only MIEL, in cooperation with Bulgaria Air, has organized a lottery and  rewarded  one representative of TPA with a gift voucher – two way air ticket Zurich – Sofia.

The workshop was very beneficial for all participants. MIEL presented Bulgaria with heading motive  "Get to know your European neighbors".  Our country persists one of the oldest in Europe, with ancient cultural and historical values, with colorful traditions and rich nature. All those was hidden from Western Europe for half a century behind the Iron Curtain. Today, Bulgaria is back on the tourist map of Europe. We expect our "European neighbors" to rediscover the possibilities for cultural and historical tourism, business meetings and team building, relaxation and spa treatments in Bulgaria.

We remain in expectation for feedbacks from the meeting. 

October 2011

WATA General Assembly, Cyprus

On the 21st and 22nd of October 2011 at the 62nd General Assembly of WATA (World Association of Travel Agencies) Mr. Ognyan Blagoev – chairman and executive manager of MIEL Ltd was reelected as executive member of the board of directors. For the next 4 years he will continue to endure the decision making process, while observing the newest world trends in matter of tourism and promoting Bulgaria as business and incentive travel destination. Furthermore, the board decided to incorporate the WOI organization (World of Incentives). As result, two of the leading touristic branches MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions) and DMC (Destination Management Companies) will join their efforts on the world travel market.   



June 20 - 23, 2011
Road Show of TAM Linhas Aereas

MIEL Ltd. – a company for events and travel – organized its serial successful event, which was hosted by APG Bulgaria. During the Road Show was presented the products and services of the Brazilian airline company TAM. The main topic was group and individual fares for travels of Bulgarians to Brazil and other South American countries.
The seminar, hosted during three consecutive days respectively in Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna, was visited by representatives of leading tour agencies and tour operators in the country. The presentation of Caravelle (a famous company for cruise) was also interested.
The event was supported by the Association of Bulgarian tour operators travel agents (ABTTA). Mr. Lukas Kreijcik – Manager of Tam Airlines for Eastern Europe shared his sincere gratitude to APG Bulgaria and MIEL Ltd. and its willingness to work with the Bulgarian’s travel agencies in order to promote the South America as a tourist destination.

June 21-28th, 2011
Workshops of National Institute of education and training in the system of Ministry of Education /NIOKSO/
MIEL Ltd. is а specialized company in the field of corporate services – in particular the organization of corporate events and their implementation.
In this regard, as contractors of NIOKSO for organizing and conducting a series of workshops MIEL once again proved that organizing such events and their implementation are in very high level. The same is the opinion of the entities of NIOKSO. There were 3 series of 6 seminars.
June 21 – 22, 2011 - Kyustendil
In Kyustendil seminar was held in the hall of the Gallery, including paintings of Vladimir Dimitrov the Master. The participants were fascinated by the talk of the curators of the museum for the works of the Master.
Of course, the organization of the seminar was a high level that contribute to the kind cooperation of the hotel "Ramiro" - one of very newest hotels in town.
June 24 – 25, 2011 – village Kmetovtsi
Again spoke with satisfaction of the organizers of seminars NIOKSO the meeting in the municipality of Gabrovo. It was held in "Lanterns" - Kmetovtsi. Among the wonderful atmosphere of Balkan village and courteous service staff of the complex the participants held a fruitful time and last but not least were fascinated by Balkan delicious dishes offered by the chef of Tavern on the complex.
June 27-28, 2011, Rousse
The latest in a series of seminars held in June at Rousse. Hotel "Riga" offer excellent conditions for this. Besides his work participants and organizers visited the nearby border town in Romania - Giurgiu.



October 21 - 23, 2010

Sofia, Bulgaria


MIEL Ltd. and the International Association of Blondes organized the First ever International Congress of Blondes, which took place in Sofia.
The Congress was held in Sofia's City Center shopping mall, with blonde guests from all over the world – Switzerland, Russia, Kosovo, Latvia, Belarus, Italy and Bulgaria. On October 22, 2010 the blondes attended a charity Ball and Gala Dinner. The next day they participated in a Parade, along the Vitosha boulevard to the National Palace of Culture where a concert took place. The event concluded with a beauty contest "Miss Blondie"  in Sofia night club Sin City.

Kostents, Bulgaria
MIEL have signed a contract with the Municipality of Kostenets according to the project "Integrated planning of tourist destinations in the municipality Kostenets" advertising and marketing "scheme under Grant OPRD 2007 - 2013" Support for regional cooperation and best practices."

Recife, Brazil

From April 28 to May 3, 2010 in Recife, Brazil held BNTM /Brazilian Travel Market/. Part of the event were representative of over 1000 worldwide. Mr. Ognian Blagoev - TAM representative for Bulgaria and Chairman of the Board of Directors of MIEL was guest at the invitation of TAM - Brazilian airlines and the Ministry of Tourism of Brazil's statement. During the event, held several meetings with both local tour operators and with partners worldwide.


April 22 - 23, 2010


Plovdiv, Bulgaria

The 13th edition of the International Fair of Training Firms TF FEST 2010  was attended by 673 students from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Finland and Montenegro from 97 training units. Participants demonstrated their commercial and managerial skills from 22 to 23 April in the Office of International Fair Plovdiv.
Traditionally MIEL was also part of this year's Fair TF FEST 2010 and awards the best representatives of tourist agencies. For the second year in a row notables were students from TF Sveta Gora LTD - Veliko Tarnovo. The other top three places were occupied by TF Village Tour Ltd. - town of Gotse Delchev  and TF Unique Tours Ltd. - Petrich.
Certificates of participation were also given to TF Amnezida Ltd., TF SPA Relax Ltd., TF Tarnovo Tours Company Ltd. and TF EtnoArt Ltd. and an individual certificatie was awarded to iss Michaela Hristova, a student from PGT, Gabrovo.


Presentation of the Stara Zagora region during the 60th GA of WATA in Barcelona, Spain


30 members of 25 countries participated in the 60th GA. They all were really impressed by the region of Stara Zagora and they are thinking of starting to offer that still unknown but attractive destination, explained Mr. Ognian Blagoev - the representative of WATA for Bulgaria, who personally presented the project in Barcelona. He also shown a 7-days tour in the Stara Zagora region which combines visits of remarkable objects and time for relaxation.
The representative of WATA in Belgium is also engaged with the popularizing the project.
The project is put into effect by the  financial support of Rotary District 2482 Bulgaria and Rotary Club - Stara Zagora. During 2010 we will introduce the tourist potential of the region in Canada to attract more tourists, promised the President of Rotary Club - Stara Zagora, Mr. Nikolay Shopov.
Mr. Jordan Nikolov - the district governor of Stara Zagora explained that he would bring a proposal to the Ministry of Culture and would insist that the project should be included in the reconsideration of the Strategic plan for development of the cultural tourism.
Mrs. Christine Fournie sent a consecutive letter to support the project and its development and popularization.


3 - 5 December, 2009
WATA General Assembly in Barcelona, Spain

MIEL, the Bulgarian representative of the World Association of Travel Agents /WATA/ participated in the 60th General Assembly of the Association.
Within the Assembly, Mr. Ognyan Blagoev, the president of Miel, introduced the potential of the region of Stara Zagora as a sustainable tourist destination. The presentation was accepted with great interest from the 28 leading tour operators, represenatives from 22 countries in WATA.

EIBTM, Barcelona, Spain

During the visitation of EIBTM were held fruitful meetings with tourist companies and organizations worldwide. Particular emphasis is EUROMIC the meeting was the inclusion of Bulgaria as a congress and events destination.
Only Bulgaria and Albania were not presented with their own stands during the event.


1 - 3 November 2009

From 01 to 03 November 2009, Mr. Ognyan Blagoev - President and Mrs. Daniela Sekiranska - Executive Director of MIEL had a working visit to Jordan. The visit was hosted by Mr. Fares Qadri - Owner and Managing Director of PTC and a member of the board of the Jordanian Association of Travel Agencies. During the meetings were discussed opportunities for mutual cooperation.

29 - 30 October 2009
On 29 and 30 November 2009 in Hotel Kempinski Ishtar Dead Sea held the General Assembly of APG GA /Air Promotion Group - Global Associates/.
The conference was attended by delegations from 58 countries and the General Directors of 23 airlines. The Bulgarian participant during the General Assembly was Mr. Ognyan Blagoev - Managing Director of APG Bulgaria.



Stara Zagora, 13 - 14 October, 2009
Stara Zagora region will be recommended as an international tourist destination
Bulgaria and the Stara Zagora region will be recommended as an attractive tourist destinations in the 60th General Assembly of the World Association of Travel Agents, which will be held in December in Barcelona.
This was announced to journalists in Stara Zagora, Executive Director of the Association Mrs. Christine Fournier /Switzerland/, which is the two-day guest of the Tourism Forum today and tomorrow in the district town and in Kazanlak.
According to a survey among travel agencies, "Bulgaria is not very known and should be made much effort to make it visible to the world. This should be a national policy", said Christine Fournier.
During the Assembly in Barcelona representative of Bulgaria at the World Association of Travel Agents will make a presentation and will have direct meetings to promote the Bulgarian destination. This will not only form, said Christine Fournier.
Fournier said that when she returns to Switzerland, will report to Stara Zagora and projects which the region will be promoted to the world. It was developed by Commerce and Industry Chamber in Stara Zagora, in partnership with the Agency for regional economic development, municipalities and representatives of the tourism industry in the region.

There are no well-trained and qualified human resource. For this purpose, emphasis should be placed on language learning, courses, training control, to make a closer connection between business and education, said the chairman of Commerce and Industry - Stara Zagora Oleg Stoilov. He said the idea of establishing the Association for the Development of Tourism in the region, bringing together the efforts of all stakeholders. Deputy mayor of the district town Mr. Velizar Balabanov said support and assistance in its establishment and effective operation.
During the roundtable Mrs. Daria Mavrudieva, director of the Center for training firms to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science, said she would send invitations to 28 schools in the Stara Zagora region with a proposal for training of personnel for tourism.


Stockholm, 5 - 6 October 2009


Within the international conference of the European Charter for Small Enterprises business unit to act ", organized by the European Commission (EC), was presented the Bulgarian experience and best practices in managing small businesses.

European Commission nominates “MIEL Travel” Company of best practices from Bulgaria in 2009 in the panel “Encouraging Creativity in entrepreneurship”. Ognian Blagoev, director of “MIEL Travel” was chosen by the European Commission's representative in the prestigious Bulgarian forum held on 5 and 6 October in Stockholm. He made a 30-minute presentation entitled "Bridge between schools and businesses," which summarized the main results and future plans of the joint project between the Center of the Bulgarian education - training companies to Ministry of Education, Science and Youth and tourist agency MIEL. Emphasis in the exhibition was done in the field of training and marketing to young people - students from vocational schools. "It is time to bridge the missing link between schools and businesses - was explicit Ognian Blagoev. High recognition due to its successful experiences in encouraging young people to acquire practical experience in the field of tourism and for its fruitful cooperation with the Bulgarian Center for training firms to the Ministry of Education.

A group of 16 VIP Australian tourists from a cruize ship visited Bulgaria according to a special programme designed by MIEL including the visits to Belogradchik rocks and wine tasting in Magura cave.

International Fair of Training Firms TF FEST - Plovdiv
88 training firms, 665 students, 77 teachers and 36 high-schools participated in the 12th edition of International Fair of Training Firms TF FEST. Participants demonstrated their commercial and managing skills during the event which took place on 11th and  12th April in the palace 8 in the International Fair Plovdiv. For the first time training companies from Romania, Macedonia and Montenegro took part in the fest.
For the consecutive year MIEL Travel took part in the International Fair of Training Firms TF FEST and awarded the best representatives to travel agencies. This year's excellent students were from the training firms "Sveta Gora" - Veliko Tarnovo, "June-tour" and "Kultart". The award is a summer internship in MIEL Travel.





Motorshow - Geneva

The team of MIEL Travel, visited the consecutive 79th Motorshow, held in Geneva 05 - 12.03.2009. Once more its luxury, design and dimension impressed every visitor in the venue. There were exhibited the latest automobile models of the leading trades in the automobile industry.

Collaboration between Kompas and MIEL Travel

Hitherto prevailing collaboration between one of the biggest tour operators in Europe - Slovenian KOMPAS and MIEL Travel was discussed in Paris. The two companies outlined their future cooperation in the field of boutique and elite tourism.
The representative of Kompas was Mrs. Slobodanka Matulovic - CEO and of MIEL Travel - Mr. Ognian Blagoev - Chairman and Mrs. Daniela Sekiranska - CEO.




59th General Assembly of WATA in Helsinki - Stockholm - 9 - 11 December 2008

This year the annual General Assembly of WATA / World Association of Travel Agencies / was held in Helsinki and Stockholm from December 9 - 11, 2008. Nineteen travel agencies from nineteen different countries took part in the assembly, among of them even the representative of Bulgaria WATA -  MIEL Travel Ltd.  During the congress the representatives of 19 countries had the opportunity to meet the Finnish tour operators and the Tourist Boards of Finland and Sweden.

In the 59th General Assembly of WATA, MIEL Travel was represented by Mr. Ognian Blagoev - the chairman of MIEL and member of the Board of the Directors of WATA and Mrs. Daniela Sekiranska - executive manager of MIEL.




Misses Bulgaria 2008

As a tradition now, even this year on 31st October 2008 in Grand Hotel Sofia was organized the Tenth Anniversary of the beauty contest: Misses Bulgaria 2008.

The Bulgarian women, devoted mothers, fantastic wives and successful females once more showed that time can not beat their good-looking. Seeing them in the scene as they  walk you get fascinated by the mature beauty that they ray and what makes it  more difficult is that you are forced to choose just one, the appropriate to  represent Misses Bulgaria 2008.
Fifteen participants took part in the contest and selecting " the one " was hard  but we had to made a decision.
The fortunate woman was Galina Nedialkova, Misses Bulgaria 2008! She  was also chosen as  the face image of MIEL Travel Ltd.
Galina Nedialkova was honored respectfully with a ribbon by the member   of  the jury and chairman of MIEL Travel, Mr. Ognian Blagoev.
She was awarded with a marvelous weekend for two in the land of sun, Greece.

On the 6th August First Competition of  Madonna's Bulgarian  wraith took place in Sofia. A publishing house "Ciela",  organized this event on the occasion of a new biography book "Madonna - like an icon". The first prize - ticket for the concert of  Madonna in Nice was awarded by MIEL Travel. The winner -  Mrs. Julia Ganeva, who was chosen for the Madonna's  Bulgarian wraith, was personally awarded by Daniela Sekiranska - general manager of MIEL Travel.




The competition "Miss Universe" 2008 caught out on July 6,   2008. MIEL Travel was a partner of "Famous". The winner of "Miss Universe" 2008 became a participant from Republic  China - Mrs. Jin Shu who was presented with a medal ribbon   by  Ognian Blagoev. The owner of "Famous" and organizer of  the competition, Meggy Savova, was awarded with ticket for the  concert of Madonna in Nice by MIEL Travel.

58th General Assembly of WATA in Sofia - November 15 - 17 2007
WATA / World association of Travel Agencies / carried out its General Assembly for the first time in Bulgaria. This was achieved through the active membership of MIEL Ltd. - the only Bulgarian tour operator and travel agent member of WATA.
During the General Assembly the representatives of 30 leading tour agencies from 5 continents discussed the challenges of the elite tourism.

A Bulgarian was elected for the first time in the Board of the Directors of WATA Mr. Ognian Blagoev, the chairman of MIEL Ltd.: " I'm happy that during our not very long membership we manage to gain good position yet and to give a rise to a definite interest of the other members to Bulgaria. For me it will be an exclusive privilege, as a member of the board, to work and to improve the image of Bulgaria as a destination of exceptionally rich historical, cultural and natural landmarks" - said Mr. Blagoev.





For the first time a Bulgarian member was elected to be part of the Board of the Directors of World Association of Travel Agencies /WATA/. Mr. Ognian Blagoev - the chairman of MIEL, was elected as a full member of the Board of Directors of WATA: "I'm so pleased to take part in the Board of the Directors of WATA and to make the interests of members of WATA into Bulgaria. For me it will be a big privilege to work for the image of Bulgaria as a destination with rich historical, natural and cultural landmarks". - said Mr. Ognian Blagoev.
