MIEL attended the meeting of Travel Professional Associations, Switzerland - Basel, Switzerland
MIEL presented Bulgaria as a tourist destination for business and pleasure to the Swiss Travel Professional Associations (TPA)
On 28th of April 2012, the Swiss colleagues held a joint meeting of their association and the World Association of Travel Agencies (WATA), whose member is MIEL as sole representative of Bulgaria. Of all participants from WATA, only MIEL, in cooperation with Bulgaria Air, has organized a lottery and rewarded one representative of TPA with a gift voucher – two way air ticket Zurich – Sofia.
The workshop was very beneficial for all participants. MIEL presented Bulgaria with heading motive "Get to know your European neighbors". Our country persists one of the oldest in Europe, with ancient cultural and historical values, with colorful traditions and rich nature. All those was hidden from Western Europe for half a century behind the Iron Curtain. Today, Bulgaria is back on the tourist map of Europe. We expect our "European neighbors" to rediscover the possibilities for cultural and historical tourism, business meetings and team building, relaxation and spa treatments in Bulgaria.
We remain in expectation for feedbacks from the meeting.

WATA General Assembly, Cyprus
On the 21st and 22nd of October 2011 at the 62nd General Assembly of WATA (World Association of Travel Agencies) Mr. Ognyan Blagoev – chairman and executive manager of MIEL Ltd was reelected as executive member of the board of directors. For the next 4 years he will continue to endure the decision making process, while observing the newest world trends in matter of tourism and promoting Bulgaria as business and incentive travel destination. Furthermore, the board decided to incorporate the WOI organization (World of Incentives). As result, two of the leading touristic branches MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions) and DMC (Destination Management Companies) will join their efforts on the world travel market.

Recife, Brazil
From April 28 to May 3, 2010 in Recife, Brazil held BNTM /Brazilian Travel Market/. Part of the event were representative of over 1000 worldwide. Mr. Ognyan Blagoev - TAM representative for Bulgaria and Chairman of the Board of Directors of MIEL was guest at the invitation of TAM - Brazilian airlines and the Ministry of Tourism of Brazil's statement. During the event, held several meetings with both local tour operators and with partners worldwide.

Plovdiv, Bulgaria,
The 13th edition of the International Fair of Training Firms TF FEST 2010 was attended by 673 students from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania, Finland and Montenegro from 97 training units. Participants demonstrated their commercial and managerial skills from 22 to 23 April in the Office of International Fair Plovdiv.
Traditionally MIEL was also part of this year's Fair TF FEST 2010 and awards the best representatives of tourist agencies. For the second year in a row notables were students from TF Sveta Gora LTD - Veliko Tarnovo. The other top three places were occupied by TF Village Tour Ltd. - town of Gotse Delchev and TF Unique Tours Ltd. - Petrich.
Certificates of participation were also given to TF Amnezida Ltd., TF SPA Relax Ltd., TF Tarnovo Tours Company Ltd. and TF EtnoArt Ltd. and an individual certificatie was awarded to iss Michaela Hristova, a student from PGT, Gabrovo.
Presentation of the Stara Zagora region during the 60th GA of WATA in Barcelona, Spain
30 members of 25 countries participated in the 60th GA. They all were really impressed by the region of Stara Zagora and they are thinking of starting to offer that still unknown but attractive destination, explained Mr. Ognian Blagoev - the representative of WATA for Bulgaria, who personally presented the project in Barcelona. He also shown a 7-days tour in the Stara Zagora region which combines visits of remarkable objects and time for relaxation.
The representative of WATA in Belgium is also engaged with the popularizing the project.
The project is put into effect by the financial support of Rotary District 2482 Bulgaria and Rotary Club - Stara Zagora. During 2010 we will introduce the tourist potential of the region in Canada to attract more tourists, promised the President of Rotary Club - Stara Zagora, Mr. Nikolay Shopov.
Mr. Jordan Nikolov - the district governor of Stara Zagora explained that he would bring a proposal to the Ministry of Culture and would insist that the project should be included in the reconsideration of the Strategic plan for development of the cultural tourism.
Mrs. Christine Fournie sent a consecutive letter to support the project and its development and popularization.

WATA General Assembly in Barcelona, Spain
MIEL, the Bulgarian representative of the World Association of Travel Agents /WATA/ participated in the 60th General Assembly of the Association.
Within the Assembly, Mr. Ognyan Blagoev, the president of Miel, introduced the potential of the region of Stara Zagora as a sustainable tourist destination. The presentation was accepted with great interest from the 28 leading tour operators, represenatives from 22 countries in WATA.

EIBTM, Barcelona, Spain
During the visitation of EIBTM were held fruitful meetings with tourist companies and organizations worldwide. Particular emphasis is EUROMIC the meeting was the inclusion of Bulgaria as a congress and events destination.
Only Bulgaria and Albania were not presented with their own stands during the event.
1 - 3 November2009
From 01 to 03 November 2009, Mr. Ognyan Blagoev - President and Mrs. Daniela Sekiranska - Executive Director of MIEL had a working visit to Jordan. The visit was hosted by Mr. Fares Qadri - Owner and Managing Director of PTC and a member of the board of the Jordanian Association of Travel Agencies. During the meetings were discussed opportunities for mutual cooperation.
29 - 30 October, 2009
On 29 and 30 November 2009 in Hotel Kempinski Ishtar Dead Sea held the General Assembly of APG GA /Air Promotion Group - Global Associates/.
The conference was attended by delegations from 58 countries and the General Directors of 23 airlines. The Bulgarian participant during the General Assembly was Mr. Ognyan Blagoev - Managing Director of APG Bulgaria.

Stara Zagora region will be recommended as an international tourist destination
Bulgaria and the Stara Zagora region will be recommended as an attractive tourist destinations in the 60th General Assembly of the World Association of Travel Agents, which will be held in December in Barcelona.
This was announced to journalists in Stara Zagora, Executive Director of the Association Mrs. Christine Fournier /Switzerland/, which is the two-day guest of the Tourism Forum today and tomorrow in the district town and in Kazanlak.
According to a survey among travel agencies, "Bulgaria is not very known and should be made much effort to make it visible to the world. This should be a national policy", said Christine Fournier.
During the Assembly in Barcelona representative of Bulgaria at the World Association of Travel Agents will make a presentation and will have direct meetings to promote the Bulgarian destination. This will not only form, said Christine Fournier.
Fournier said that when she returns to Switzerland, will report to Stara Zagora and projects which the region will be promoted to the world. It was developed by Commerce and Industry Chamber in Stara Zagora, in partnership with the Agency for regional economic development, municipalities and representatives of the tourism industry in the region.
There are no well-trained and qualified human resource. For this purpose, emphasis should be placed on language learning, courses, training control, to make a closer connection between business and education, said the chairman of Commerce and Industry - Stara Zagora Oleg Stoilov. He said the idea of establishing the Association for the Development of Tourism in the region, bringing together the efforts of all stakeholders. Deputy mayor of the district town Mr. Velizar Balabanov said support and assistance in its establishment and effective operation.
During the roundtable Mrs. Daria Mavrudieva, director of the Center for training firms to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science, said she would send invitations to 28 schools in the Stara Zagora region with a proposal for training of personnel for tourism.
Stockholm, 5 - 6 October 2009
Within the international conference of the European Charter for Small Enterprises business unit to act ", organized by the European Commission (EC), was presented the Bulgarian experience and best practices in managing small businesses.
European Commission nominates “MIEL Travel” Company of best practices from Bulgaria in 2009 in the panel “Encouraging Creativity in entrepreneurship”. Ognian Blagoev, director of “MIEL Travel” was chosen by the European Commission's representative in the prestigious Bulgarian forum held on 5 and 6 October in Stockholm. He made a 30-minute presentation entitled "Bridge between schools and businesses," which summarized the main results and future plans of the joint project between the Center of the Bulgarian education - training companies to Ministry of Education, Science and Youth and tourist agency MIEL. Emphasis in the exhibition was done in the field of training and marketing to young people - students from vocational schools. "It is time to bridge the missing link between schools and businesses - was explicit Ognian Blagoev.
High recognition due to its successful experiences in encouraging young people to acquire practical experience in the field of tourism and for its fruitful cooperation with the Bulgarian Center for training firms to the Ministry of Education.

A group of 16 VIP Australian tourists from a cruize ship visited Bulgaria according to a special programme designed by MIEL including the visits to Belogradchik rocks and wine tasting in Magura cave.

International Fair of Training Firms TF FEST - Plovdiv
88 training firms, 665 students, 77 teachers and 36 high-schools participated in the 12th edition of International Fair of Training Firms TF FEST. Participants demonstrated their commercial and managing skills during the event which took place on 11th and 12th April in the palace 8 in the International Fair Plovdiv. For the first time training companies from Romania, Macedonia and Montenegro took part in the fest.
For the consecutive year MIEL Travel took part in the International Fair of Training Firms TF FEST and awarded the best representatives to travel agencies. This year's excellent students were from the training firms "Sveta Gora" - Veliko Tarnovo, "June-tour" and "Kultart". The award is a summer internship in MIEL Travel.

Motorshow - Geneva
The team of MIEL Travel, visited the consecutive 79th Motorshow, held in Geneva 05 - 12.03.2009. Once more its luxury, design and dimension impressed every visitor in the venue. There were exhibited the latest automobile models of the leading trades in the automobile industry.

As a result of the confidence of our clients toward the services of MIEL in this recesson times in January and in February 2009 the periodical cycle meetings of Salvis Pharma Ltd. - a corporative client of MIEL - were organized successfully.

Collaboration between Kompas and MIEL Travel
Hitherto prevailing collaboration between one of the biggest tour operators in Europe - Slovenian KOMPAS and MIEL Travel was discussed in Paris. The two companies outlined their future cooperation in the field of boutique and elite tourism.
The representative of Kompas was Mrs. Slobodanka Matulovic - CEO and of MIEL Travel - Mr. Ognian Blagoev - Chairman and Mrs. Daniela Sekiranska - CEO.

59th General Assembly of WATA in Helsinki - Stockholm - 9 - 11 December 2008
This year the annual General Assembly of WATA / World Association of Travel Agencies / was held in Helsinki and Stockholm from December 9 - 11, 2008. Nineteen travel agencies from nineteen different countries took part in the assembly, among of them even the representative of Bulgaria WATA - MIEL Travel Ltd. During the congress the representatives of 19 countries had the opportunity to meet the Finnish tour operators and the Tourist Boards of Finland and Sweden.
In the 59th General Assembly of WATA, MIEL Travel was represented by Mr. Ognian Blagoev - the chairman of MIEL and member of the Board of the Directors of WATA and Mrs. Daniela Sekiranska - executive manager of MIEL.

Misses Bulgaria 2008
As a tradition now, even this year on 31st October 2008 in Grand Hotel Sofia was organized the Tenth Anniversary of the beauty contest: Misses Bulgaria 2008.
The Bulgarian women, devoted mothers, fantastic wives and successful females once more showed that time can not beat their good-looking. Seeing them in the scene as they walk you get fascinated by the mature beauty that they ray and what makes it more difficult is that you are forced to choose just one, the appropriate to represent Misses Bulgaria 2008.
Fifteen participants took part in the contest and selecting " the one " was hard but we had to made a decision.
The fortunate woman was Galina Nedialkova, Misses Bulgaria 2008! She was also chosen as the face image of MIEL Travel Ltd.
Galina Nedialkova was honored respectfully with a ribbon by the member of the jury and chairman of MIEL Travel, Mr. Ognian Blagoev.
She was awarded with a marvelous weekend for two in the land of sun, Greece.

On the 6th August First Competition of Madonna's Bulgarian wraith took place in Sofia. A publishing house " Ciela ", organized this event on the occasion of a new biography book " Madonna - like an icon ". The first prize - ticket for the concert of Madonna in Nice was awarded by MIEL Travel. The winner - Mrs. Julia Ganeva, who was chosen for the Madonna's Bulgarian wraith, was personally awarded by Daniela Sekiranska - general manager of MIEL Travel.

The competition " Miss Universe" 2008 caught out on July 6, 2008. MIEL Travel was a partner of " Famous". The winner of " Miss Universe " 2008 became a participant from Republic China - Mrs. Jin Shu who was presented with a medal ribbon by Ognian Blagoev. The owner of " Famous" and organizer of the competition, Meggy Savova, was awarded with ticket for the concert of Madonna in Nice by MIEL Travel.

58th General Assembly of WATA in Sofia - November 15 - 17 2007
WATA / World association of Travel Agencies / carried out its General Assembly for the first time in Bulgaria. This was achieved through the active membership of MIEL Ltd. - the only Bulgarian tour operator and travel agent member of WATA.
During the General Assembly the representatives of 30 leading tour agencies from 5 continents discussed the challenges of the elite tourism.

A Bulgarian was elected for the first time in the Board of the Directors of WATA Mr. Ognian Blagoev, the chairman of MIEL Ltd.: " I'm happy that during our not very long membership we manage to gain good position yet and to give a rise to a definite interest of the other members to Bulgaria. For the first time a Bulgarian member was elected to be part of the Board of the Directors of World Association of Travel Agencies / WATA / . Mr. Ognian Blagoev - the chairman of MIEL, was elected as a full member of the Board of Directors of WATA : " I'm so pleased to take part in the Board of the Directors of WATA and to make the interests of members of WATA into Bulgaria.
